May 27, 2016- "Can ABA Help a Teen on the Mildly Affected End of the Spectrum?"- Although the majority of research concerning ABA focuses on early intervention with young children, there are studies that have demonstrated the therapy’s effectiveness for teens and adults with varying degrees of autism. One of the main reasons for this is that ABA treatment programs are tailored to an individual’s strengths and needs. This article discusses further how ABA can be implemented for older individuals with “mild” autism and stresses the importance of finding a therapist who is trained in ABA and experienced in working with this demographic of individuals.
