April 10, 2015- "Autism Study Fails to Show Benefit of Omega-3 Fatty Acids"-  In a small 6-month study, researchers found that omega-3 fatty acid supplements produced no benefits over placebos in autism symptoms and language development of toddlers and preschoolers with autism. In fact, those in the treatment group experienced a slight worsening of challenging behaviors such as disruptiveness, aggression, and hyperactivity.
