March 20, 2013- "New Government Estimate Finds Autism More Common than Before; 1 in 50 School Kids Diagnosed"- Health officials believe that the recent findings of autism prevalence, 1 in 50 in children aged 6 to 17, are a result of greater awareness and diagnosis, as oppose to a higher incidence of the disorder. This estimate released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that at least 1 million children in the United State haves autism.
